This series of macrame pieces came from a love affair of pictures, particularly in Instagram, that I kept seeing of fresh new takes on macrame wall hangings. I love the look of the macrame pieces, but couldn't quite bring myself to collect the materials needed to make one myself, let alone taking on learning a whole new medium. So it was a lovely and poetic decision when I suddenly struck on the idea of paintings portraits of macrame instead. The simple single hued pieces let the brush work speak for itself in the manner that a string of wool or rope would in an actual macrame wall hanging.
