Great News! I just learned that work from my Bow River Suite is now available at Pottery Barn
They have taken a number of the pieces from my Bow River Suite work. This grouping of 32 panels was created while I was doing a residency at the Banff Centre in the summer of 2011. Originally I went to Banff to continue my Clouds and Other Sky Phenomenon body of work. However, I couldn't ignore the natural beauty of Banff and soon, I was making paintings all about the beautiful Bow River that runs through town.
What originally attracted me to the Bow River was its colour.
As I drove to Banff, it ran along side parts of the highway in stunning glacial river tones - turquoises, aqua, etc. I hadn't seen water this colour before in person, so I was immediately entranced.
The 32 panels play through all the tones of blue of the Bow River and captures each in a monochrome panel of its own, highlighting just how many colours of blue one body of water can hold.
I had the great fortune to present this piece at Headbones Gallery in Vernon, BC the following year.
