To create these extraordinary images, artist Katie Brennan took photographs of the Bow River in the Canadian Rockies, as the same spot was utterly transformed from one second to the next by the endless rush of water. Projecting the images onto paper, she recreated the ripples and eddies—line by line—with her brush, letting the stark, white paper stand in for the sun glinting off the surface. Nearly photo-realistic from a distance, her paintings reveal their true nature up close, and our meticulously printed reproductions capture every painstaking brushstroke.
Oh and there are these available too!
Here's what Williams-Sonoma have to say about these ones:
"In this intriguing trio of giclée prints, Canadian artist Katie Brennan marries her love of painting with her remarkable talent for graphic design. Offering fresh perspectives on geometric abstraction, the gray-and-yellow compositions are taken from Brennan’s original gouache on paper artwork."
They do look pretty handsome, don't they?
Just got word that you can purchase these two fine prints at Williams-Sonoma. Here is what Williams-Sonoma has to say about me:
"These contemporary giclée prints are taken from two original oil paintings by Canadian artist Katie Brennan. The captivating compositions showcase geometrical progressions, demonstrating the lively way in which repetition and linear mark-making create powerful visual effects."
