This weekend I'm doing something a bit different than usual. I've been asked by Stavros Angelatos of VARATTI Studios to create a projection installation for Center of Gravity, a music festival that runs in Kelowna July 24, 25 & 26.
Originally outlined, this project was to be a straight up projection of my work. But I as I began to work on it, I know I wanted to take it one step further.
This projection installation reflects on the space backstage at the Center of Gravity, where it will be placed . This space holds a different tenor, where performers gear up to hit the stage, relax after their performance, or just take a moment to breathe. The projection is timed to my relaxed breathing pattern and breathes in and out of visibility. While the music soars and the beats rage, the pace of BREATHE remains steady, calm and tranquil.
